Molded Fiberglass/Gainesville, TX                           2003-2006

      Quality Manager for fiberglass process.  Implemented ISO 9001-2004. Developed APQPs for processes for wind turbine blades and automotive parts. Developed inspection criteria for process, provide training on quality system requirements and critical characteristics. Performed PPAPs and develop process FMEAs.  Supervised 7 inspectors on 3 shifts and 1 quality engineer. Green belt certification.

  

 

Ideal Technologies/ Globe Motors, Dothan, Alabama           2002-2003

Contract position, Sr. Reliability Engineer, Failure Analysis of sub-fractional Military, FAA, automotive and commercial motors, gear assemblies, pump and actuator assemblies.

      Perform analytical tear down of customer returns for failure analysis. Determine root cause and Supported engineering in problem solution and monitor corrective action effectiveness. Train personnel in self-inspection techniques for manufacturing.

     

     Navistar-International/American Transportation              2001-2002

      Quality Director for new plant start-up. Designed quality plan for development of policies and procedures ISO 9001 for school bus launch of the chassis and body assembly. Provided supplier development and customer service when necessary.

      Planned, scheduled, organized, controlled and directed the activities of quality/manufacturing engineering function to assure that they are valid, efficient, cost effective and in compliance. Directed, monitored and appraised the performance of manufacturing and quality functions to provide the necessary coordination between activities.

      El Paso/Juarez Services for Manufacturing (EPJSM)           1994-2001

      Vice-President Director of operations for International locations in three cities providing contract manufacturing, rework, sorting and temporary labor.  Managed multiple projects from inception to completion in El Paso and Cd. Juarez, Torreon whose sales grew from $50K to $1.8M in five years.  Developed profitable relationships with international suppliers and external customers in printed wiring board assembly and various mechanical assembly operations. Coordinated projects in start up, quality and engineering for 200 operators.  Controlled and monitored project costs and delivery schedules.

Analyzed work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.

 

 

 

ELAMEX, Cd. Juarez                                         1992-1994

      Manager, Corporate Engineering and Technology

            Responsible for six engineers who provided process improvement, cost estimates and accounting, bill of material, configuration control and activity based costing for four plants. Facilitated the internal auditing, continuous improvement initiatives and quotations for projects in multiple facilities. During my two years we maintained 95% accuracy on routings and bills of material, gained ISO9000 certification, and introduced MOST training for standards. Establish work measurement programs and analyzed work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.

 

GENERAL ELECTRIC CORPORATION   GE/Aerospace: UTICA, NY           1985-1992

      Project Manager, Supplier Development/outsourcing

      Liaison between International suppliers, purchasing, quality assurance and engineering for the successful transfer of (79) different printed circuit board assemblies and (300) different harnesses from the United States to a Mexican manufacturing facility.  Provided training to the supplier in the use of SPC, process improvements teams and military standards for soldering and assembly which facilitated their certification and contributed to the increased efficiency (25% to 75%) in just four weeks.

      Process Control Engineer, Quality Assurance

      Military projects were radar systems for Grumman, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force.

      Developed and maintained process improvements and established low cost, yet effective quality and method plans in accordance with MIL-STD 2000A.  Used DOE methodology to control processes for injection molding, wave solder, SMT, encapsulation, conformal coating and harnesses.  Analyzed process failures and recommended corrective action in these processes through experimentation using DOE techniques, SPC and military requirements.
